The varieties of vines grown by our associates are, by priority, those typical of the region: white and rosé Grenache (also called lledoner in the Empordà) and Macabeo for the sweet and white wines; red Carignane, red Grenache and Tempranillo for other wines produced. And, little by little and in order to improve, new varieties are being incorporated, such as Muscat, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. For many years, the distinct ways of elaboration and ageing of the Espolla Winery Cooperative wines are rightfully reputed all over Catalonia. Its wines are among the most representative of this region with exceptional landscapes and where the cultivation of vineyards and the creation of wines were introduced almost 2500 years ago.
